BamGoo Electric Bamboo images

Saturday, March 20, 2010

The body of the BamGoo is made out of bamboo. Designers from Kyoto University, and the City of Kyoto (home to the famous environmental protocols), demonstrated how organic material like bamboo—which is light, very strong and grows very fast—might be incorporated into car design. The single-seat all-electric car weighs on 130 pounds and can travel 30 miles on a charge.

Concept Car : The Helios Lizard

Kim Gu-Han of Universitat Dulsburg-Essen, Germany, wants to build a solar-powered car that can charge itself entirely from the sun. The problem is the limited space for photovoltaic panels on a car’s roof. The Helios overcomes that limitation by acting like a frill-neck lizard. When stationary, the off-road vehicle can unfurl a large set of photovoltaic cells to produce enough energy to run the car, with excess energy for home power. The Helios won Best Use of Technology category at the Interior Motives Design Awards 2008.

Concept Car : Eco Transportation Phoenix

Future transportation concepts give the world hopes to deliver eco-friendly vehicles that will be far better both in technology and looks. However, all this exists conceptually and we are still not near any such technology that could provide high-speed sporty vehicles with zero emission electric engines. Phoenix is another such conceptual design for American urban life. This machine is in itself a try to blend freedom, strength, and flexibility, with a special concern to our gradually deteriorating environment. Design seems to be inspired from American muscle cars and pick-up trucks. This two-seater car derives power from Flexi-Fuel V8 engine. Not only engine but the bio-composite material and recycled aluminum used in body are other important aspects that make it soft toward the environment.
The tough and agile design incorporates a safety cell made from reinforced bio-polymers with roll-bars behind each seat to provide additional protection. An Orbital Omni-directional four-wheel-drive system makes it capable of rotating around its own axis and sideways. All this sounds fantastic and do go with its name that is inspired by an ancient mythical bird, except that it can’t fly.

Concept Car : Angel Car gives you an unbelievable driving experience

Angel is a concept car inspired by the fairy angels at a minimal and very pure design manner. Peugeot Angel is specially designed for city use that will give the users an unbelievable driving experience. This concept car has a futuristic look with a little bit of retro charm. All the front wheels have a standard car like look but the rear wheels are functioning on idea of circulation of opposite magnetic fields and this movement actually develops magnetic field that aloes this superb car to be levitated in its back. With this process the Angel car is lighter than traditional cars and requires less power to perform smooth drive.

Concept Car : Audi ASQ

Audi ASQ is a futuristic concept for the year 2040. The design considers the worst case scenario effect of global warming; a time when sea levels have risen dramatically. Designed by Juyoung Kim, the ASQ concept moves over land as a normal vehicle, getting power from an electric motor in each of its spherical wheels, once the concept reaches water, it’s a different story altogether. To maneuver on water, it switches to an aquatic system and uses water jets for propulsion. When in submersible mode, the concept uses a water turbine for motion. It seats three to provide ample space for the passengers and the

Concept Car : MOY

The contest winner, MOY concept car was designed by Elvis Tomljenovic received first price in contest held during auto(r) automotive design conference in Zagreb, Croatia. Elvis Tomljenovic is student of the Zagreb School of Design. Elvis Tomljenovic is finishing student of the Zagreb School of Design. He is currently looking for sponsors/scholarships to continue education in field of automotive design at postgraduate level.
MOY concept is made for generation who uses technology as a means to express themselves and communicate with others. The idea behind MOY concept is that everyone can design their own car on their own computer and then apply the design to the vehicle using wireless data transfer or share it with other people through web-site, forum, e-mail etc. To those who lack the necessary skills or time to create their own design, we offer the option of downloading ready made designs. The vehicles are interconnected, so the change is possible in motion. Movement recognition technology enables us to draw on the car in real time.
Since MOY can display both static images and videos, it can be used as a new medium of promotion. Vehicle is powered by batteries that charge electro motors set in wheels and controlled by drive-by-wire technology. The body of the car is made of outer and inner polycarbonate layers, with layers of liquid crystals, LED diodes and electro chromic foil (film) in between.
auto(r) is the biggest automotive design conference in Europe in 2009 and the first ever held in South East Europe (SEE). The conference theme: “Professional automotive designers from SEE”, born or originated. This is the first time ever that this subject has been taken to the public. A title auto(r) has been chosen because it combines two words - automobile and author. Our mission is to present designers as authors of automobile designs.

Concept Car : Lamborghini Gallardo S

At the Geneva Motor Show Lamborghini presented a design study based on the Gallardo. Created by Luc Donckerwolke at the Centro Stile Lamborghini in Sant’Agata Bolognese , the “Concept S” is his interpretation of an „open car“. Donckerwolke drew inspiration from single-seater racing cars and got rewarded with a few awards when it got introduced. The classic single-seaters did not have a traditional windscreen, they used a wind deflector instead. The concept S uses the wind deflectors not only to direct air over the head of the driver, they also acts as an additional air inlet for the engine, which is positioned behind the seats. The 5.0 liter V-10 engine is the same engine used in the Lamborghini Gallardo Coupe. The Gallardo S Concept is 70 kg lighter then the Coupe and goes from 60 mph to 200 mph in about four seconds. When the Concept is moving slow enough to make use of the retractable rear view mirror. You can notice the front and rear spoilers have been slightly remodeled and the rear diffuser has been slightly reshaped.

Concept Car : Renault Z.E

Renault ZE concept car has been showcased at the Paris Auto Show. Renault ZE is an all-electric concept car that’s based on the Renault Kangoo be bop. Renault ZE concept’s design is focused on minimizing energy consumption while providing all the comfort features. Renault ZE is powered by an electric motor the develops 70kW and 226Nm Nm of torque that uses the energy stored in lithium-ion batteries. Renault ZE’s transmission is using direct with front/rear reducer and inverter. Renault ZE will start mass-marketing of electric vehicles from 2011, as announced by the company. RENAULT Z.E. CONCEPT, AN ALL-ELECTRIC CONCEPT CAR WHICH PROVIDES A GLIMPSE OF MOBILITY IN THE FUTURE In parallel to its new TCe and dCi engine ranges, Renault is furthering its strategy aimed at curbing CO2 emissions with the development of electric vehicles. Since the beginning of 2008, the Renault-Nissan Alliance has signed agreements with several states and regions (Israel, Denmark, Portugal, Japan’s Kanagawa prefecture, the state of Tennessee in the USA), which will lead to the mass marketing of this form of vehicle from 2011. Renault Z.E. Concept (’Z.E.’: Zero Emission) is Renault’s vision of the electric vehicle as an efficient, userfriendly zero-emission car. Based on the brand new Renault Kangoo be bop, Z.E. Concept features a design which has been adapted to the spirit of an electric vehicle, with the focus on minimizing energy consumption while at the same time providing core comfort features. The energy consumption of auxiliary functions such as lighting, heating, climate control, etc. is a key factor when it comes to an electric vehicle’s range, so special attention has been paid to optimize energy management. Renault Z.E. Concept also incorporates several interactive information features which are easy to use. Renault Z.E. Concept is powered by a 70kW electric motor with torque of 226Nm, with lithium-ion batteries. Energy saving management at the heart of Renault Z.E. Concept’s design Z.E. Concept is based on Kangoo be bop and its compact dimensions (length: 3.95m, height: 1.85m) favour manoeuvrability in and about town. This electric vehicle was designed to minimize energy consumption, without forgetting modern comfort-related refinements. The employment of heat-reflective paint and insulating bodywork featuring large surface areas contributes to the reduction of temperature fluctuations which traditionally prompt the use of climate control or heating systems which are big consumers of energy. Insulation is further optimized by the use of acid green-tinted glass for the glazed areas.

Concept Car : Eco Cars-Safari

Eco Factor: Compact concept car with fuel cell engine and composite fiber panels structure. As compared to heavy cars, small ones are often more prone to damage in case of an accident or other such incident. Safety matters more than anything else, but how about a strong compact car with a soft attitude towards nature too? The Safari concept is all about giving you all the possible advantages that a heavy vehicle can give you. All the large car dynamics like greater energy absorbing strengthened by independent structural composite fiber panels and sliding door apertures in case of side impacts and rollovers, brings it almost very near to a compact dream car. Head up Display and a center console joystick replaces the conventional interiors.
Further, a variable wheelbase ensures that you don’t miss the comfort and stability at cruising speeds. A MAGLEV driveline interested me most due its capability of enhancing fuel cell power plant integrated into the floor. Moreover, industries producing steel body panels are harmful for environment, but its structural composite plant fiber body reduces the carbon emissions generated from such industries.
The Dark side: While going through the theoretical specifications, the concept sounds great. However, it will not be easy to put it into production. Further, the pending patent for MAGLEV driveline will make us wait to see it getting into production.
